Morris County Track Club

Welcome to the Morris County Track Club website.

For those track athletes in Morris County (Sub-Bantam through Youth) who are serious about continuing to develop their skills and compete against other top athletes across the country, we have formed the Morris County Track Club;  a member of the USA Track & Field Association.

The purpose of the MCTC is to extend the track season and provide runners with the opportunity to compete in the events beyond the regular season i.e. Junior Olympics Preliminary events, the country's premiere track and field event for young athletes born in 1996 and later. (The USATF even has a Sub-Bantam category for children born in 2001 and later!)

The MCTC is part of the USATF New Jersey Association. The New Jersey Association sanctions the Preliminary Meets that enable runners to qualify to compete in the Junior Olympics. There is a great deal of paperwork involved in competing with the USATF and we are handling/coordinating everything so that you and your athlete can focus on the events.

We are based in Parsippany New Jersey and are a USATF-registered competitive club member in the New Jersey Association. USATF's largest youth program is the Junior Olympics, where nearly 70,000 youth athletes compete each year in the Track & Field and Cross Country championships.

Youth competitions typically take place in two-year age divisions. These age divisions provide young athletes the opportunity to compete with other athletes of similar ability. The age divisions for competition year 2010 are as follows:

Age Division

Year of Birth

Bantam

2000 - 1999

Midget

1998 - 1997

Youth

1996 - 1995

Intermediate

1994 - 1993

Young

1992 - 1991

* Athletes who are still 18 through the final day of the USATF National Junior Olympic Track & Field Championships are eligible to compete in the Young Men's and Young Women's divisions through that meet.
