Frederick E. Davis Jr., CPA, JD. Tax Managing Partner/Officer of Ethics and Compliance at Mitchell & Titus, LLP Frederick Davis, Jr. is the firm’s Tax Managing Partner who has over 20 years of public accounting experience, specializing in serving tax-exempt organizations, public and private companies.

Fred provides tax services for a range of industries such as media and entertainment, financial services, major consumer market, insurance, real estate, telecommunication and service organizations.

Many of his clients are among the Fortune 1000. Fred also services as the firm’s Officer of Ethics and Compliance. Prior to joining Mitchell & Titus, Fred served as a tax partner at a former Big Five firm specializing in international taxation of multinational corporations. Fred has co-authored several articles for trade publications on various tax topics, which have been featured in The Journal of Bank Taxation, among others.

Fred is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), and the National Association of Black Accountants (NABA). He is also a member of the New Jersey and New York State Society of CPAs and serves on its Financial Instruments and Financial Institution Committee. He earned a Juris Doctor from Rutgers School of Law, a Master of Science in Taxation from Long Island University, and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Hofstra University. Fred served as President of the Hofstra University’s National Alumni Organization Board (2010-2012), as Vice President for Programs (2008-2010) and as President of the Hofstra Black/Hispanic Alumni Association (1998 to 2006).

Fred serves as Treasurer on the Board of Trustees for Vision of Hope, a New Jersey community-based not-for-profit organization. Additionally, Fred serves as Treasurer of 100 Black Men of New York, a not for profit organization focused on economic empowerment, health and wellness, education, mentoring and social justice. He is a CPA in New York and Maryland.

Fred coaches middle school basketball as well as teaches youth bible study at the Bethany Church’s Center of Champions located in West Orange, NJ and served as a Deacon on the Deacon Ministry of The New Hope Baptist Church of Newark, NJ (2002 to 2013). Currently, he serves as a Youth Sunday School teacher and on the Scholarship Ministry at the First Baptist Church of South Orange, NJ.

Fred has been married for 20 years to his college sweetheart, Solange, who works at Marion P. Thomas Charter School in Newark, NJ. Fred and Solange have two sons, Freddy III, who attends the University of Chicago and Wil Davis, who attends Seton Hall Preparatory School in West Orange, NJ.
